I might suggest Hakkenden as a good series about the dog brothers. Really Good storyline. But its one of those you MUST watch from part one onward to have any clue of understanding it. And if you know nil about Japanese culture, forget it. Its about as complex as Evangelion. But its really really good. However, the one annoying thing with it, is that it changes animation styles partway through it.

Well, fortunately in the past few months I have developed a fairly good grasp of japanese culture based on the research that was required so that I could play my Kenshin character. Naming conventions. Japanese religion (Shinto, Buddhism, etc). Language and Writing (Kanji Lettering). I've done a bit of research on how the japanese culture gradually developed as an offshoot of Chinese culture, evident in their writing system and other such things. I also know quite a bit about the Meiji Era (especially since one of my favorite movies [The Last Samurai] and my favorite anime [Rurouni Kenshin] take place during the time period).
I am just curious as to what the Dog Brothers are? This sounds almost like Inuyasha, hehe.
Don't you love it when they change styles halfway through!? I know the Record of Lodoss War, that got annoying, especially when the second half of the series actually got worse, not better. Kenshin did the same thing, but fortunately it only got better.

Well the switch has its cons and pros. It makes movement look so much better, but the actual quality isn't the type I like. Its not as crisp, liney and clear. And the Dog brothers.... Crap me that the DVD's we have are in German on the back, but without spoiling the complete storyline, the Dog brothers are a set of warriors and various men of society who have found these heavenly perals. I believe the dog brothers are called such because somehow... the diety or spirit related to these perals uses a dog as her symbol. But one of the story's centers is around a woman who was murdered. Her murder being a bit of a mystery. Its been awhile since I've seen it, and I've had a hell of a time getting ahold of volume 4 to finish up the story, as our animae store here closed and I have no clue when it did so! Might give you some good ideas for RP tho bro.
